The new boost feature of the Ad Optimizer enables you to increase the overall visibility of your products and push specific focus products, e.g. as deal support. Your budget is distributed across all current campaigns, with a higher allocation for campaigns with a stronger focus.

The "Campaign Boost" is the successor to the previous "Push Tags" (“Strong Visibility Push” and “Efficient Visibility Push”), offering a broader range of functions and a more straightforward, and simplified user experience. The feature is available for all campaigns with Management Options “Full support” and “Manage” that have a TACOS set.

You can now choose between three different boost strategies:

  1. Visibility Boost

Maximum visibility: This strategy leads to highly competitive bids with the aim of making you visible at the top of the search results. All targets in a boosted campaign are automatically set to the maximum bid allowed by the Ad Optimizer, taking into account the campaign TACOS and the product price of the advertised product. Due to the intense competition for the top positions in the search results, CPCs will rise to a higher level than usual. It is expected that ACOS will also increase.

  1. Efficiency Boost

Increasing visibility while maintaining a certain level of efficiency: This strategy leads to slightly increased bids (up to 2 times the usual bids), taking into account the campaign TACOS and the price of the advertised product. While the campaign achieves higher visibility, it is unlikely that your products will be visible on the top search rankings for highly competitive keywords.

  1. TACOS Boost

Change TACOS: This strategy allows you to change, mostly increase, the target ACOS value during the boost period, maximizing the visibility of your products. This leads to significantly higher values for CPC and ACOS with increased TACOS. After the boost, the TACOS is automatically reset to the TACOS of the campaign.

How can I set up a Boost?

Campaign boosts can be set in the Campaigns table using either bulk actions or inline editing. Additionally, the new bulk import feature can be utilized to easily set up boost periods for multiple campaigns at once. The status of active and upcoming boost periods for a campaign is indicated by small rocket icons (active = blue, upcoming = gray) in the TACOS column of the table. The new filter, "Campaign Boosts," enables you to filter campaigns based on whether they have boost periods defined or not.

Inline Editing

To view the overview of boosts for the selected campaign, click on the boost icons. You have the option of creating new boost periods or searching for existing boost periods in the table using filters and sorting functions. Please note that editing or deleting is only possible for upcoming boost periods.

Bulk Actions

The bulk action “Boost” allows you to create a boost period for multiple previously selected campaigns simultaneously.

Bulk Import

The template for boost imports can be downloaded from the “Import” section of Campaigns page. An overview of existing boosts can be downloaded and edited via the new export option, "Export campaign boosts."

Important notes

If you are already using the Push Tags, you do not need to do anything. All previously set Visibility and Efficiency push tags (active, future and past) will be migrated to the new structure by us in the background.
